Stu Allen is the Bay Area’s Leading Jerry Garcia emulator.
IMO he is the most skillful and hearfelt of the many guitarists minng this groove.
He also has the most dedicated fan base.
His regular presence onstage next to Phil Lesh is enouugh to convince me that he’s worthy and I can’t think of a single experience where I was dissapointed in his performnce.
Stu Allen is a lot more than a Garcia pretender - he’s a terrific singer, player and entertainer who’s capacities go beyond Grateful Dead Music.
I am GRATEFUL that he is as addicted to playing live music as Jerry Garcia was!!

A long time back I was contacted by Bo Putnam, Audio Engineer of Stu Allen & Mars Hotel. He offered me the Soundboard Audio from the very excellent, second to last ever show in the Beach Park at TXR (11.30.21) and suggested I synch it to the Vids I had cap'd of the show. I told him my software was pretty unsophisticated - but I recently stumbled upon some capable Freeware and finally put in the many hours of effort to connect Bo's excellent audio tracks with my vids. The only exception here is the 2nd encore (The Weight) as I have mysteriously misplaced that vid file.....Big Thanks to Bo Putnam!
